Acupuncture

During acupuncture treatment I insert very fine sterile needles in specific body points to address a wide variety of health conditions. Needles are left in for 20-30 minutes, while you relax and restore on the acupuncture table.

Additional needles are often added in the course of the treatment. If indicated I will add other modalities such as cupping, aromatherapy, moxibustion and gua sha.

Electro-Acupuncture

In this form of treatment the acupuncture needles are attached to wires, which transmit a gentle current generated from a specialized electroacupuncture unit. This micro current is designed to provide strong stimulation to the acu-points.

This treatment is indicated when there is sub-acute or chronic muscular/joint pain that has not responded well to other modalities. It can also successfully address gastrointestinal issues such as IBS, as well as mental health conditions, including depression and anxiety. It is also effective for treating urinary incontinence

Cupping

Cupping is a suction technique designed to pull toxic build up and muscle contraction/tightness from the body’s deeper tissues to the surface of the skin. The prolonged suction action on the skin encourages the circulation of blood to affected areas (neck/shoulder, back) helping to decrease inflammation, promote tissue healing, and decrease pain. The suction mechanism of cupping also helps to break down scar tissue allowing the muscles to relax and lengthen

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a form of heat therapy in which a type of sage is shaped into small cones and then heated near the surface of the skin. It can reduce pain, especially arthritic, and I often use it for digestive and gynecological conditions

Aromatherapy

In Acupoint-Aromatherapy I apply individualized, organic essential oils to acupuncture points. Benefits include easing stress, anxiety and depression, inducing deep relaxation, relieving headaches and menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes

Gua Sha

Gua Sha is an ancient healing technique that uses a smooth-edged instrument to apply repeated strokes on the skin, typically in the neck, shoulder or back area. Muscular pain, both acute and chronic, is the most common indication for gua sha

Private Yoga

I am also a certified yoga teacher. I decided to go through teacher training since I am firm believer that a regular yoga practice is one of the most powerful healing modalities available to us. I love teaching groups and individuals alike. My training was in the ashtanga style, and I can teach all levels of vinyasa flow, from beginner to advanced. Currently I am offering private, individualized yoga classes in your home

Healing

I like to describe myself as a holistic practitioner. I treat my patients as a whole and tend to them at the levels of body, mind and spirit, with a deep commitment to improving the quality of their lives.

Using this holistic approach, I can not only address and improve the physical complaints my patients present with, but also offer them tools to achieve deeper transformations in their lives. This method involves a fair amount of wellness coaching, and enables my patients to be active participants in their own healing process, rather than being passive recipients of care.
